Paris: Lancia at the Motor Show
|
The Paris 2008 International Motor Show re-opened its doors on October 4 in the high prestige setting of the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, with Lancia taking front stage amongst the 500 international exhibitors with a completely revised stand, decorated in the style of an ‘haute couture’ shop while still retaining, as in previous Shows, the main distinctive traits of Lancia’s ‘brand experience’, such as the dominant shades of black, white and silver. An ideal meeting point for those all those attracted by elegance and style: visitors can also discover the new Lancia merchandising range at the new Lancia Boutique.
In the spotlight, the 3 Lancia lines: Delta, Ypsilon, Musa.
The star of the show is the Delta, with the new 190 bhp 1.9 Twinturbo Multijet engine, displayed in a glass case, an icon of the brand’s technological innovation that delivers a new power, making it possible to accelerate from 0 to 100 Km/H in 7.9 seconds. Other Lancia Delta models are also on show, ready to arouse visitors’ curiosity: the two-colour 120 bhp 1.6 Multijet version which has recently received the coveted 5 Euro NCAP star award; the Platino version of the 165 bhp 2.0 Multijet with two-colour body (Eclipse Black and Lava Black); the same vehicle in other colour versions, one two-colour Nadir Pearl and Lava Black and the other two-colour Wind Grey and Lava Black; the Platino version of the 150 bhp 1.4 Multijet in two colours, Sunset Bordeaux and Lava Black, and last but certainly not least, the Oro version of the two-colour 120 bhp 1.6 Multijet 120, Aqua Blue and Lava Black.

The Ypsilon is well represented with 3 models: the new , in the 75 bhp 1.3 Multijet version, bearing the elite marque of the Versace Group who has also dressed the models on the stand with clothes aligned with the styling cues of the exhibition space; the Ypsilon Moda Milano, to further emphasize Lancia’s bond with the world of fashion, in the 75 bhp 1.3 Multijet 75 version; and the 105 bhp 1.3 Multijet version of the Ypsilon MomoDesign, reflecting Lancia’s cooperation with another brand that expresses the best of Made in Italy.
Attention is also focussed on the ‘City Limousine’, the Lancia Musa ‘Poltrona Frau’, in the Platino 90 bhp 1.3 Multijet two-colour version and the Platino 120 bhp 1.6 Multijet, the best selling MPV in Italy for close on two years, a symbol of excellence that combines technology and styling with the handcrafted elegance of Poltrona Frau leather.
As always, Lancia vehicles are distinguished by their engines, constructed entirely by FPT – Fiat Powertrain Technologies, the Fiat Group company specialised in the development and production of power units and gearboxes.
A well-deserved ‘toast’ awaits all visitors at the Lancia Cafè, the Lancia ‘lounge bar’ that received star billing at the last two editions of the Venice Film festival.
