Milan - Palazzo del Ghiaccio -,13 November 2009: at the award ceremony for the sixth edition of “Venice Movie Stars Jaeger-leCoultre Award”, Lancia was present as the main sponsor for the second year running.
The photographic competition, now in its sixth year, is organised by AQA Communication with the aim of showcasing the best shots captured during the 66th Venice International Film Festival. This gives professional photographers an opportunity to document the most important moments of that extraordinary period, dedicating their work to the stars and offering cinema fans a tangible record.
The panel was chaired by Douglas Kirkland, an illustrious name in the world of international photography and author of some of the most famous and celebrated shots taken within the world of art and film, such as his portraits of Marilyn Monroe.
The prize-giving was held to coincide with the “BeSpoke” exhibition devoted to bespoke luxury (from 11 to 15 November), and the winning photographers received their prizes directly from two Italian actors who have trod the red carpet at Venice many times themselves, Riccardo Scamarcio and Isabella Ferrari.
The winning works, selected from among 450 shots submitted by 70 entrants, will be collected in a catalogue and exhibited at a photographic exhibition to be held at the Casa del Cinema in Rome from 10 December to the end of February 2010.
Once again, Lancia has consolidated its strong link with the world of cinema, recognising that the seventh art possess the ability to express and convey the values that have always distinguished the brand, namely temperament, style and elegance.
