17 – 27 September, Frankfurt.
Ten days devoted to the world of cars, with tried and tested range leaders and promising new products. Against this backdrop, Lancia is back at the Frankfurt International Motor Show with the Delta, the Ypsilon and the Musa - prestigious cars that showcase the best of Italian style.
Absolute star of the show, at its own world premier, is the ultra-new Ypsilon "ELLE", a show-car arising out of a joint-venture between the brand and ELLE, the iconic women's fashion bible that offers the latest trends each season to create a unique style, a handbook on the very latest fashion with its own individual take on the vaunted haute couture catwalks.
Pink with 'metallic' effect for the exterior and purple interiors in leather and Alcantara, the latest addition to the Lancia stable will go on sale in a limited edition in spring 2010.
The Musa Poltrona Frau, top of the range version of the City Limousine which has held onto its record as the biggest-selling MPV in Italy for nearly two years to guarantee its place at the show. Style and attention to detail are combined with the exclusivity and sophistication of leather and the hand-crafted skills of Poltrona Frau.
Elegance and style are complemented by state-of-the-art technology and confirmation of Lancia Automobiles' consistent focus on the environment through the research and development of solutions accessible to all: "The environment is a luxury we want to allow ourselves". A few months after introducing the bi-fuel petrol/LPG "ECOCHIC" versions, this concept was exemplified by a new "Start&Stop" device - developed by Engineering & Design and FPT with the aid of partner suppliers, namely Bosch and Magneti Marelli - . The device turns the engine off temporarily when the car stops at red lights, for example, and then restarts it. Fewer CO2 emissions and more saving.
This exclusive inner circle is completed by the new Lancia Delta, a model that perfectly encapsulates the concept of 'crisis chic' because it pursues the downsizing philosophy of ensuring better performance with lower fuel consumption and emissions.
Star of the show is our new range-leader, the Delta Executive, aimed at business and also diplomatic and government customers. It is no coincidence that the car was chosen to ferry the international authorities who took part in the recent G8 Summit held in L’Aquila. Sober at heart and a star by temperament... The new Delta Executive was the official car chosen for the 66th Venice Film Festival, with a dedicated car fleet to confirm the now long-standing link between Lancia and the world of cinema.
One new addition to the 2009 Lancia Delta range is the 200 hp 1.8 Di TurboJet power unit, an innovative direct petrol engine that speeds from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds, confirming Lancia's sporty vocation and further emphasising its verve, flexibility and driving satisfaction with the fullest respect for the environment.
A Sportronic six-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel controls, Reactive Suspension System and Magic Parking are just some of the innovative hi-tech features that distinguish the Delta Executive. Go to the website www.LanciaNewDelta.it to see a 360 degree view of the car in a setting reminiscent of the advert that is currently being broadcast.
Style, temperament and innovation are Lancia's distinguishing qualities and this year they are set off to best effect in the environment housing the cars at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The stands strike a new note that moves away from a traditional trade fair look: poetry and clear references to the imaginative world of the children who represent our future.
Large blackboards form ideal surfaces for nursery rhymes; leaves on the floor become exhibition stands and the road is simply drawn in chalk. Message are written in childish handwriting on the walls, while the black slate seems to be grooved by trails of white and blue light.
Imagination knows no limits.
