A milestone in the history of Lancia, and one of the most successful rally cars of all time, the Fulvia was an iconic design of the 1960s and ’70s, and the first coupé ever to achieve higher sales than the saloon from which it was derived. The Fulvia Coupé is highly desirable not only to collectors and enthusiasts, but to Lancia designers too.
That is why this prototype, while celebrating the past, also looks to the future. The brief was very clear: no unnecessary nostalgia, simply a postmodern interpretation of the original concept and lines. Priority was to be given to creating fresh and dynamic lines, and to re-creating the feeling conveyed by the original Fulvia Coupé, designed by Castagnero in 1965: a refined mix of originality, elegance, aesthetic rigour and sporting performance.
The result is a completely modern coupé, packed with design and engineering solutions capable of inspiring future production at Lancia, and loaded with great evocative power. A splendid bridge between yesterday and tomorrow.
