The Rally del Lazio Cassino writes a new chapter for Lancia
The Rally del Lazio Cassino once again delivered two days of pure passion and adrenaline, cementing its status as one of the decisive stages of the 2025 Trofeo Lancia. Twelve special stages, more than 110 timed kilometers, and a mix of mountain and coastal roads pushed crews and machines to their limits. The event confirmed the spectacular competitive spirit of a series that is bringing the Lancia name back to the forefront of Italian rallying.
At the heart of the action was an electrifying duel between the agile Lancia Ypsilon Rally4 HFs, where every tenth of a second mattered. Gianandrea Pisani and co-driver Nicola Biagi emerged victorious, sealing not only their fourth win of the season but also clinching both the 2025 Trofeo Lancia and the Italian 2WD Championship with one round to spare. For the Lion Racing duo, it was a historic double that secures their place in Lancia’s rallying legacy and sets the stage for Pisani’s debut with the official Lancia Corse HF team in the FIA ERC 2026.
A Battle Decided by Tenths
The fight for the podium was relentless. Pisani ultimately prevailed over Nicolò Ardizzone and Davide Pesavento, the three separated by less than ten seconds after more than an hour of racing. Edoardo De Antoni added late drama with a strong finish, while Gabriel Di Pietro completed a fiercely contested Top 5. The margins were razor-thin, proving once again that in the Trofeo Lancia it is the smallest details that make the difference. Bonus points added further intrigue: Pisani swept both the Rally+ and Best Performer awards, while Ardizzone grabbed the Miki Stage honors.
Rising Talents and Class Rivals
Beyond the overall classification, the rally offered thrilling storylines across categories. Ardizzone triumphed in the Junior standings after edging Pesavento by just three seconds, with Di Pietro salvaging third. In the Expert class, Poland’s Dariusz Polonski extended his winning streak to three and claimed the championship lead, ahead of a resurging Denis Vigliaturo. Meanwhile, the Master category saw Pisani also take victory, with De Antoni and Andrea Mazzocchi completing the podium after an intense duel with Giorgio Cogni.
Passion, and the Road to Sanremo
The event was marked by passionate crowds along the route, underlining the growing enthusiasm surrounding Lancia’s revival. However, celebrations will be reserved for the grand finale in Sanremo, where all eyes will once again be on the Lancia Ypsilon Rally4 HF. Developed under the guidance of two-time World Champion Miki Biasion, the car has become the symbol of Lancia’s sporting renaissance, blending modern technology with timeless racing spirit. With a €360,000 prize pool and a coveted ERC seat for the best Under 35 driver, the Trofeo Lancia continues to serve as a true talent factory. Sanremo now awaits to crown the remaining champions and close a season that has already written an unforgettable new chapter in Lancia’s rally history.
