Lancia Comeback At Rally Regione Piemonte

Adrenaline, passion, and innovation in the heart of Langhe

From April 11th to 13th, the city of Alba (CN) became the beating heart of motorsport during the highly anticipated Rally Regione Piemonte. Against the stunning backdrop of the Langhe hills—where the thrill of racing meets the richness of Italian culture—Lancia took center stage with the bold and immersive Lancia Corse HF Village.

Thousands of visitors were welcomed into an atmosphere of pure motorsport energy, with exclusive test drives, a public hospitality area, and a technical zone dedicated to the Ypsilon Rally4 HF teams—all part of a full rally-ready experience designed to bring fans closer to the action.

The spotlight shone brightly on the Ypsilon HF with its 280 HP. Alongside it, the Ypsilon Rally4 HF—engineered for tomorrow’s champions—took on its first official race, and what a debut it was.

The new Ypsilon Rally4 HF, whose development bears the signature of rally legend Miki Biasion, stole the show. In just four months, it has already sold over 90 units—a testament to its potential. Its competitive debut was marked by an immediate win in the opening night show stage by Finnish driver Kauppinen, and a stunning podium finish in the Italian Two-Wheel Drive Rally Championship by Pisani-Biagi on their first outing with the car.

Other pioneering crews, including Vigliaturo-Corradini, Fiore-Casalini, and Kauppinen-Karttunen, also crossed the finish line of Rally Regione Piemonte, writing an important new chapter in Lancia’s racing story. To celebrate these trailblazers, Lancia Corse HF awarded a special commemorative plaque to each crew who completed the rally—a heartfelt tribute to a historic moment.

Equipped with a 212 HP turbo engine, 5-speed SADEV gearbox, and adjustable Öhlins suspension, the new Rally4 HF is the perfect training ground for young drivers. That’s why the Lancia Trophy, officially launching May 8 at the Targa Florio Rally, is already sold out: 40 entries, including 25 Under-35 drivers, 7 international participants, and 2 all-female teams. With a €360,000 prize pool and the chance to join the official Lancia Corse HF team in FIA ERC 2026, it’s one of the most exciting and competitive series of the season.

"It’s incredibly emotional to see this much passion and affection for a brand that’s been away from racing for so long. When I saw the Lancia HF Village, I got goosebumps. I thought: we’re back! We’re starting with humility, from Rally4—but we’ve arrived in style, as Lancia always has. It feels like a team that’s been racing in the world championship for over 20 years.

Our mission is clear: to support young drivers, discover new talent, and give them a real career opportunity."

– Miki Biasion, two-time World Rally Champion

The weekend opened with a spectacular night show, lighting up the streets of Alba with roaring engines, adrenaline, and pure racing energy. And that wasn’t all—the Gran Delta Parade made a powerful statement, honoring Lancia’s legendary rally heritage while boldly looking toward the future.

A special podium moment celebrated the first-ever pilots racing with the Ypsilon HF, capping off an unforgettable weekend—one that marked the perfect start to rally season for Lancia.

Lancia is back where it belongs. And the road ahead has never looked more exciting.

See you at Targa Florio!
